Another truly lovely bay in the South-East of Mallorca is Cala Santanyi set deep within the pine tree woods.
Also worth a mention is Cala Llombards, a small cove five minutes from Santanyi and both offer some interesting property opportunities if you are looking for somewhere quieter.
Santanyi itself is a historical town over 700 years old and it remains unspolied by tourism. It conserves its architecture and remains a very Mallorcan traditional town, despite the fact that it has become very popular with Europeans re-locating here in recent years. Santanyi has a very upmarket atmosphere and is indeed one of the richest municipalities in Europe. Its attractive centre offers many chic shops and cafeterias. The local market held both on Wednesday and Saturday morning gathers around the main square and is bustling with activity.
