La Colonia de San Jordi is another coastal development on the South East of Mallorca which was once a former fishing town and agricultural colony.
From here you can catch a ferry to the tiny island of Cabrera, a national park which is totally undeveloped. The main advantage of La Colonia however, is that it is located very near to the stunning beach of Es Trenc, rated as the best beach on the whole of the Island. Situated by the saltplains, Es Trenc is an idyllic spot for divers, snorklers and sun worshipers alike and its fine sand stretches nearly five miles along this wild part of the South-East coast. Its Caribbean like idyll is popular too with nudists and be aware that a lot of the bodies that you see are likely to be naked! West of Es Trenc you will find Cala Pi, a small pretty creek and natural harbour. If you are looking to relax in quiet surroundings and enjoy some beautiful scnery, perhaps this is the ideal place for you. This area is popular too with those who play golf, as you can tee off not far from here. The golf courses of Son Antem and Son Gual are both nearby.
