12 kms from Felanitx is the natural harbour of Porto Colom, a delightful resort which is quiet and has up until now resisted the changes that full scale tourism brings.
The old part of Porto Colom serves as a second residence for the people of Felanitx and its population doubles in the summer months. Many upmarket bars and restaurants have opened recently along the water front in Porto Colom but the port still retains a charm and has much to offer to the resident and tourist alike. The large beach of Cala Marsal is popular with tourists on quiet holidays but it is the older section located deep in the bay on the road to the lighthouse, which has all the charm. This end of the port is unchanged, with the old church and the brightly coloured fisherman´s huts with their traditional boats alongside. If you follow the water around to the light house you will come across some small but pretty beaches, popular with locals.
