Majorca (Mallorca)
is the largest of the three Balearic Islands, home for many famous stars and championship golf courses. Here you will discover not just sea, sand and sun, but also pine forests, olive groves and almond trees.
It is an island of breathtaking scenery, with the rocky mountains and steep cliffs of the north west coast, gentler rolling central plains, and beautiful beaches that stretch for miles. All are quite spectacular in their own right, and the South East corner has these, but also its own special qualities and interests. Included among the many coastal towns are Cala Santanyi, Cala D'or, Porto Colom, and Porto Petro, with Santanyi, Manacor and Felanitx only a short way inland.
This beautiful island has something for everyone.
Majorca is attracting some very serious investment and is becoming more than just a tourist destination with people wishing to relocate here.
Prices have increased steadily since the 1990's and there are still bargains to be found.
The island has had a lot of time and money spent on it to enhance the less attractive areas and new developments are returning to tastefully designed, low-rise buildings.
Traditional white-washed villages and fishing ports are still to be enjoyed, though yachts and sailing boats are becoming more the normal. Many of the marinas boast fantastic restaurants, with motor cruisers lined up - giving them such prestige.
