Golf in Mallorca

Although Mallorca is not immediately known as a golfer's resort, the island does have no less than 17 golf courses to choose from.

These courses are spread out all over the island so you will never really be far from one. They are more than often set amid pine trees and olive groves so that the golfer can also enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. The courses are excitingly varied from the rolling hills of Golf de Andratx to the sea level fairways of the Poniente Course. Many famous faces choose Mallorca to practice their favourite sport including Michael Douglas, Jack Nicholson and the football coaches Benjamin Toshack and Johan Cruyff. They are clear exponents of the fascination awaiting in the golf courses of Mallorca.

In the South East of Mallorca, in the municipality of Felanitx, just 7 kms from Cala D'or and 2 kms from Porto Colom, you will find the GOLF VALL D'OR. This is a pretty course which offers visitors a friendly welcome and no handicap is required to play.

GOLF DE ANDRATX

GOLF DE PONIENTE

GOLF SANTA PONSA I

This course in Santa Ponsa is the venue for the Balearic Open and has many trees, water hazards and bunkers. The course also offers a four star hotel, restaurant, swimming pool and practice zones.

GOLF SANTA PONSA II

This course requires great skill particularly on holes 3, 10, 11 and 17. Bring plenty of balls with you as the first eleven holes offer tree lined fairways and the other seven all have water hazards.

GOLF SANTA PONSA III

GOLF SON TERMES, BUNYOLA

Son Termans is a course which is beautifully integrated into its surroundings, the only building in sight being the Mallorcan style club house. With mountains and tree-clad slopes, the 18 holes are spread over the hillside resulting in a course of medium difficulty.

GOLF POLLENÇA

One of the most beautiful courses in Mallorca makes this course well worth a visit. With only nine holes this is a great course to choose if you want a quick game. Set on a hillside overlooking the sea the course is challenging due to its difficult green and tricky dog-legs.

GOLF ALCANADA

Just outside Alcudia this course in a spectacular setting has wonderful views of the island of Alcanada with the lighthouse in the foreground and the mountains of the Sierra Levante in the background.

GOLF CAPDAPERA

Just a few kilometres from Arta, in the North east of the island is Capdepera Golf set in an impressive valley surrounded by the mountains. Many of the greens are multi layered resulting in some interesting play.

GOLF CANYAMEL

This golf course is considered one of the most difficult on the island but it serves the finest golfing menu. It has challenging greens and varied fairways.

GOLF PULA

Situated in Son Servera, this course with a par 70 and 6208 metres long is now one of the longest and most demanding on the island. Many tournaments are played on this prestigious course since it was founded in 1995.

GOLF MARRIOT EAST COURSE

The East course of the Marriot Golf in Lluchmajor is laid out on what used to be the hunting grounds. It is really designed for the beginner with wide long fairways. There are also five lakes strategically placed however which may upset some golfers!

GOLF MARRIOT WEST COURSE
	Description: Description 18 holes, 6293 metres, Par 72 Built in the Mallorcan country side this championship course is a golfer's challenge. Narrow fairways and raised greens are the order of the day.
